What is Sexology?

Sexology refers to the scientific study of human sexuality. Specific focal areas include human reproduction, sexual rights and consent, sex and gender diversity, sexual diversity, and population health responses to sexual health challenges.

The study of love, sexual emotions, human relationships, human sexual response, criminal sexual behaviour, sexual function, sexual pleasure and fulfilment have been relatively recent endeavours in the scientific study of sexuality.

What does a Sexologist do?

Sex therapy is a form of counseling intended to help individuals and couples resolve sexual difficulties, such as performance anxiety or relationship problems. Clients generally meet in the therapist's office. Some choose to attend sessions alone; others bring their partner with them.

The Sexology Spectrum?

Sexuality covers a broad spectrum, and is also deeply personal. It’s about understanding the sexual feelings and attractions we feel towards others, not who we happen to have sex with. There are different types of sexuality, and it can take time to figure out what fits right with you.
